MUA is an eclectic dining, drinking and entertainment spot for all ages in Uptown Oakland. Enter the1930's warehouse-era building, pass through a curtain and find yourself at the welcoming bar. Venture beyond and the space opens up to a surprisingly large two story dining area with a large communal table and smaller tables, surrounded by local artwork that constantly changes. Upstairs is the popular, intimate lounge area. The food is American and Asian comfort food served in small and large plates. The menu varies from the Lamb Cheeks, to Crispy Tofu to our ever popular naturally raised Angus Beef hamburger. Our signature cocktails such as our MUA Manhattan with Buffalo Trace bourbon, elderflower liqueur, brandied cherry, and our Épicé Gimlet with Ocho Plato tequila, jalapeño, and agave nectar are made nice and strong. Later in the evenings MUA often has DJs and dancing along with other surprise events (check the website to see the latest). It's a great place for large parties.
